Catching beauty…

Sometimes a photographer’s life can be mighty privileged. Last December, while working on the teenage television production, Castaway in Broome, I was given the opportunity to shoot photographs for the portfolio of one of the lead actors, 15 year old, Mikayla Southgate. Endowed with a translucent beauty, and a talent to match, Mikayla is an Australian actress to watch. If she persists in the business, I predict that she will go to the very top.

These are two of my favourite pictures from a shoot on Cable Beach:

It’s a wrap!

Cast and crew pose for a group shot after the final take on Castaway in Broome

Haven’t had much time to post lately with working 12 hour days in the summer heat (40 degrees) and humidity of Broome, shooting publicity stills for the children’s television series, Castaway. But now looking forward to getting home to the cooler climes of Hobart and the family. This was taken last Wednesday, after the director called “It’s a wrap.” My 17 year old son who was along for work experience is on the extreme right of the shot still holding the clapper board he had been using a few minutes before. Homeward bound…

On the road again…

This morning at 4.45am I was scraping ice off the car windshield in wintry Hobart, Tasmania.

Tonight I am 3100km away luxuriating in the tropical warmth of a Broome evening after a 30 degree (C) day. It’s so good to be on the road again and great to be able to avoid almost a month of a Tasmanian winter. Working as stills photographer on the the Northway Productions childrens’ television series, Trapped.
